New Features in Blinkbid 6

In addition to all the features you're accustomed to in previous versions of Blinkbid, when you upgrade to Blinkbid 6, you can take advantage of:

  • Blinkbid introduces Bid Consultant - utilizing the vast knowledge and experience of well known Creative Consultants Suzanne Sease and Amanda SosaStone, Blinkbid now offers a tool to help commercial photographers get a general idea of the fees that you should be asking your clients for to compensate you for your hard work and creative talent.

  • Quickbooks export - make peace with your accountant. Blinkbid can now export a file to Quickbooks that your accountant can easily import into your Quickbooks business file.

  • Blinkbid User requests were a big part of version 6 have a look below and see the myriad of subtle additions to make your bidding life easier.

  • Improvements made in JOBS:

    • New drop down status bars for quick navigation between estimate revisions
    • Newly designed Usage License Builder - and the new feature allowing you to save usage licenses for use on future jobs.
    • Estimate and Invoice views now have a Right Side Navigation List showing the Item Catalog and Template List
    • Improved management and modification of estimate templates from within a job
    • New Keyboard Navigation allows users to quickly add and complete line items to an estimate or invoice
    • Easily re-order categories and/or line items select category or item using "shift" then move it up or down using shift/arrow keys.
    • View category subtotals by clicking on the category.
    • More Job summary information at the bottom of the estimate and invoice windows - now see "Agent's Cut" and "Estimated Profit" at a glance.
  • Improvements made in PEOPLE:

    • New PORTFOLIO TRACKER - keep tabs on who has your portfolios so you can get them back!!
    • New Expanded View - allowing advanced find on multiple contact fields, drop down status bar allowing you to view contacts by group, and new Vcard Import
  • New Reports created to help manage contacts

    • Active Invoice Statement - for internal use - giving pertinent information regarding all open invoices for that contact
    • All invoices for this Contact
    • Statement for the Client - Either All Invoices or Active Invoices showing Amount Invoiced and Balance Due amounts
    • The Notes Tab of Contact now has Client TAX EXEMPT check box overriding tax preferences on jobs billed to tax exempt clients
    • Contact now contains a T & C tab where a Client Specific Usage License and Client Specific Terms & Conditions can be saved and will be inserted for each new job created for that contact.
  • Improvements made in REPORTS:

    • Financial Landing page now lists all active invoices
    • Easily change between personalities with new drop down status bar
    • All Financial reports now adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP)
    • Two new financial reports added: 1) Profit/Loss by Client: Categorized by Contact 2) Profit/Loss by Client Only
  • Improvements made in PREFERENCES:

    • Item Catalog
      • New "Get More" Icon allows you to contact Blinkbid's server to see if new Item Catalogs or New Categories are available, and will allow you to import a new category into your existing item catalog without affecting any modifications or customizations you have made to your active item catalog.
      • You can now share your customized Item catalog with other Blinkbid users, or import a customized Blinkbid Item Catalog from another Blinkbid user.
    • Tax and Agent Rate
      • New Field for Agencies using Blinkbid includes a field to export Agents to be listed as Employees in Quickbooks
    • Custom Settings Improvements
      • Merged with Document Appearance and redesigned into tabbed categories for faster, more intuitive navigation and many new options.
      • Print Settings: where you can upload your Logo and Signature as before, and don't forget to define your print margins!
      • Job Numbers: Customize your job numbers or define separate invoice numbers from estimate numbers
      • Custom Fields: define custom fields that appear on the Job Overview Page
      • Section Titles: Allows customization of all Printed section titles, also includes a new text field so you can add "Make Checks Payable to...." on your invoices.
      • Label Text: Allows Customization to all labels, and includes the preferences for the signature lines to be set for Estimates, Advances, and Invoice documents
      • Line Items: Allows customization of labels such as time and thousands separators to be set, and allows the user to define the default time unit.
    • List Manager - a new tab has been added to allow you to manage the custom usage licenses saved.
    • Application Options
      • Spelling Icon allows you to select a new spell check dictionary or upload a new dictionary from your computer.
      • Document Footer field allows text to be added to the bottom of all printed documents w/ an option to italicize and insert job information placeholders.
      • Check boxes to turn off Dialog help bubbles, or always print T & C if available, etc...
