You would be shocked at what goes into a line item. But they are the building blocks of your bid, and we make it easy to manage.
Add/Edit a line item.
- This is a preview of what the line item will look like.
- The Quantity field is optional and only needs to be used if you have an item you're charging for that is defined by quantity.
- The Time field is optional and only needs to be used of you are charging for something that has a time unit associated with it like crew, or rentals. After entering a value in the time field the default time unit will populate the Time Is Billed In field. To change the default time unit that is automatically entered see the Line Items and choosing a default time unit for billing in the Document Appearance section.
- The Rate field is the cost/rate for the line item.
- The Tax field is only used if you are using the tax method "apply tax to individual line items".
- The Markup % is a percentage value if you are marking up the line item. The markup is calculated in your profit and is transferred to Quickbooks as income. To have Blinkbid calculate the percentage for you click on the underlined Markup % label.
- The Memo field is where you can put additional information about the line item.
- Line item notes are notes that get shared with the estimate. Line items with notes are highlighted in estimate, but are not revealed to the client when the estimate is printed.
- Delete the line item.
- Go back to the estimate or keep adding line items by clicking in the item catalog to the right. (Tip: You can use the ESC key to go back to the estimate. You can use the ARROW keys to move up and down in the item catalog and then use the RETURN key to add a line item from the catalog.)
