Document Appearance

The Document Appearance window enables the user significant control over the the various sections of a Estimate or Invoice.

Print settings.

  1. Add a logo: Insert a logo by clicking the the plus button next to the logo field. Logos should be 8.5" (215.9 mm) wide by up to 2.5" (63.5 mm) tall. Logos are aligned to the top, center by default. To balance your logo where you want. Start with a new image file 8.5" wide and your chosen height. Place your logo art where you want. Then flatten the image and save it as a 300 dpi jpeg or tiff file. Import the logo blinkbid will automatically adjust the text to the bottom of the logo. ATTENTION: Importing a large image file into Blinkbid will size to the maximum size allowed of 2.5 inches tall. Also large image files can affect the performance of Blinkbid.
  2. Add a signature: A scanned image of your signature to be used with invoices indicating that the rights are released to the client. Image files should be jpeg to tiff images at 300 dpi. Click the plus sign to import your image.
  3. Additional Print Marin: if you want a wider print margin you cab choose the setting here.
  4. Additional Space at the Top: to create a large top margin choose a setting here. This feature does not work if you have a logo image. However this feature does work if you suppress the logo, or no logo image is saved. To create space at the top with a logo image, follow the placement instructions in item 1.
  5. Print the usage license: select if and where to print the usage license.
  6. Print the estimate/invoice terms: select if and where to print the estimate and invoice terms.
  7. Print bank wire information: select if and where to print your bank wiring information.
  8. Usage license builder language: choose the language for the usage license builder.
  9. Suppress the header to use your own letterhead: If you are printing documents on your own letterhead, this option suppresses the name and address information associated with the personality.
  10. Ask me if I want to suppress my logo: Blinkbid will ask you if you want to use your saved logo or not with each print.
  11. Suppress the date under the signature: Blinkbid inserts a date under your signature if you have a signature image. You can suppress this here.

Job numbers.

  1. Put this text in front of my job number: this is static text like your initials, or you can click the pencil to enter dynamic text like date elements.
  2. The next job number will be: Blinkbid increments this number every time you create a new job.
  3. Put his text after my job number: this is static text like your initials, or you can click the pencil to enter dynamic text like date elements.
  4. Use this text to indicate an estimate: this is static text like "EST" to indicate an estimate, or you can click the pencil to enter the revision dynamic tag which will indicate the version of the estimate revision.
  5. Use this text to indicate an invoice: this is static text like "INV" to indicate an invoice.
  6. Job number preview: get an idea of what your job numbers will look like based on the options you've entered in the above fields.
  7. The next invoice number will be: if you need a separate invoice number from the job number that was on your estimate, you can put a starting number here. This value gets incremented ONLY when you print and invoice from a job.
  8. Don't generate job number, as me instead: turns off all the other job number features and lets you enter a job number on the fly when you create a new job.

Custom fields.

Blinkbid enables users to utilize six custom fields for their documents. These fields labels are global throughout the personality and are available on the Overview
window. Blinkbid will not print these labels if there corresponding fields in the job Overview is empty.

Section titles to customize your document.

These fields allow you to name the various document titles to whatever you like. The fields are Unicode so foreign language users of Blinkbid can put their corresponding language translations into these fields. The Fees title and Production expenses are if you want to have a division between your above the line and below the line sections of your documents. If you need your checks made out to a different name than is on your header, you can enter that information into the Make check payable to field. You must write out the whole phrase that you want to appear on the document. For example: "Please make check payable to Elliott Lewis." This field is also Unicode and can accept any language you wish.

Label text to name every section of a estimate or invoice.

These fields enable you to rename every label that appears on the documents. As in the previous section the fields are Unicode and accept any language. The fields are self explanatory, change as you need. The print job nickname option, when ticked, will print the job's nickname on your document. Some users find this an easier way to identify the printed documents. The number of signature lines that appear on the document can be selected here as well.

The look of line items and choosing a default time unit for billing.

You can customize the look of your line items for your language. To choose a default time unit that Blinkbid will auto enter into the edit line item time unit field, click on the label of the time unit. The time unit label will turn red to indicate that is is the default. Click the preview link to see what you line items will look like when they are displayed.
